The honest truth?
It all happened because of the impulse to build the low stone walls with surplus stone in the area. Maybe it should have more of them inside it? One of the great pleasures of gardening, of having this variety of spaces and conditions to play with is the endless stream of ideas to mull over and consider.

A pitch pine pew from a Welsh Chapel sits against the pine end of the old tractor shed – the garden is partially masked from below with clumps of bamboo, but it can also be viewed from the gravel path above. Children enjoy running round the spiral path and plant-aholics will I hope enjoy some small treasures and unusual varieties.
