Facilities
Access
We regret that wheelchair access to the Garden is not possible due to paths of gravel, bark and grass, as well as steps and some steep slopes. There are no metalled paths at all. Whilst disabled visitors may drive up into the garden to drop off near the house, this closer drop off point adjoining the Front and Courtyard Gardens is a gravel surface.
Silent Space: Dyffryn Fernant’s Silent Space has been developed in association with the charity, Silent Space (silentspace.org.uk), who encourage peaceful time in green places, and it is part of our vision to create a more tranquil world. The Garden has always been a place of peace and reconnection with nature, and we now have a small discreet area specifically for silence and reflection. (Directions available from our entrance hut.)
There are plenty of seats around the garden.
Dogs: We welcome well-behaved dogs on short leads into the garden.
The Library, containing a wide selection of books, including those on gardening, art, music, etc..
Refreshments: Self-service teas, coffee and hot chocolate are available in The Library, and please feel free to picnic in The Beyond, on the far side of the pond.
